Foram descritas mais de 1200 esp\u00e9cies de \u00e1caros, das quais aproximadamente 10% podem ser pragas para as culturas. Entre estes \u00faltimos est\u00e1 o Tetranychus urticae, que \u00e9 considerado um dos mais importantes. O Tetranychus urticae \u00e9 capaz de se alimentar de mais de 4000 esp\u00e9cies diferentes, incluindo 150 culturas, pertencentes a mais de 140 fam\u00edlias diferentes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"hojas\" src=\"https:\/\/www.arvensis.com\/recursos\/agent.php?repository_id=1&amp;resource_id=2963&amp;w=277&amp;h=284\" alt=\"Hojas\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Alimenta-se de c\u00e9lulas mesof\u00edlicas no fundo das folhas, onde est\u00e3o protegidos da luz UV. Assim, este \u00e1caro produz um dano f\u00edsico que consiste em esvaziar as c\u00e9lulas provocando uma cor apagada que pode tornar-se preta \u00e0 medida que o tecido necrotizado for aumentando, o que, como consequ\u00eancia final, pode reduzir o rendimento da cultura afetada.<\/p>\n<p>T.urticae tem um tamanho pequeno, um ciclo de vida curto, maturidade sexual precoce e descend\u00eancia elevada. Durante o seu ciclo de vida, as f\u00eameas T.urticae podem produzir mais de 100 ovos que, em condi\u00e7\u00f5es \u00f3timas, podem desenvolver-se em menos de 1 semana.
